Bio

Benjamin Beaudor

I am a thirty-year-old Frenchman from Brittany with two enduring fascinations: the language industry, where the science of communication meets technology in the service of words, and the culture of North America. Based between Rennes and Toronto, I live that second fascination daily. Well beyond business, North American film, photography, and music form the lens through which I see everyday life from France.

What I love most is building. Creating, designing, and running a portfolio of tailored ventures for demanding clients who need language and translation services they can rely on. I founded Ellipse World in 2017, the French company through which I create, develop, and operate strong brands. Each of them serves exacting industries where errors are not an option, and where AI alone is not enough, in terms of accountability as much as quality control. The human stays at the centre. We work with American and international law firms and with pioneering companies in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, IT, cybersecurity, and pharmaceutical research. Finding agile answers to their language problems is a daily pleasure.

Being French, I have a natural preference for the French language, in its European form as much as its Canadian one. Developing Frenchside was the logical expression of that: helping English-speaking Canadian companies communicate in flawless French, fully aligned with OQLF requirements and Bill 96.

When I am not crafting a new project, I hike, slow down on the Pacific coast in Vancouver, a city whose minimalism suits me, and devour television series. When I am not moving at full speed, I take the time to breathe, to live, to discover, and to learn.
